BMW is now planning to increase the number of its dealerships in India from the current 12, to 15. The company intends to open showrooms in three tier-II cities over the next one year – Lucknow, Coimbatore and Jaipur.

BMW, which sold 1,397 cars in calendar year 2007, has raised its sales target for India and aims to sell 2,800 cars here by December 2008. So far, the company has already sold 2,000 cars in India this year and the official stand is that BMW is not worried by the slowdown that’s supposedly happening in India’s automotive sector.
